Business Administration with Medical Terminology QQI Level 5
This is a full time course running for one year.
This level 5 programme allows the learner to acquire the skills to work in an administrative role in a full range of business contexts or to progress onto further education.
Introducing a component in Medical Administration, learners will engage with components including; Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Bookkeeping and Payroll. This QQI Level 5 course is designed to encompass a broad range of business and IT related subjects, combining the practical IT and office skills required to succeed in an administration role with the added dimension of medical terminology which would support learners to progress into a medical based administrative role.
Using industry standard software including Microsoft 365 and SAGE accounts and payroll packages, we aim to prepare learners for the world of work. Learners will engage with a tailored work experience placement which enables them to gain confidence required to start a career in administration. Each learner is responsible for securing a work placement in a relevant setting where assessment material can be worked on.

Once the application is received, applicants will receive a learner details form and a personal statement which should be completed and returned to Arklow FETC. Interview and assessment of language will be carried out once eligibility criteria has been established. A good standard or written and spoken English is required to participate in this course and complete the assessment work along with good IT skills. Elements of the course will be completed online using; Moodle and Microsoft 365; KWETB email account and relevant training will be provided on commencement of the course.
